A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of attending a cooking demonstration with Chef Lynn Crawford where she was showcasing Catelli’s new Healthy Harvest Ancient Grains Pasta. Chef Lynn is one of my favourite chefs on the Food Network, I particularly like watching her show Pitchin’ In.
Over the course of the evening we learned about the new Ancient Grains pasta and Chef Lynn demonstrated a handful of different applications for it. Catelli’s new Ancient Grains pasta includes 5 different ancient grains: quinoa, amaranth, teff, sorghum and millet. It’s hearty and filling, with a slight nutty taste, and is a healthy alternative to your traditional, white pasta. I actually boiled some up earlier this week, topped it with spinach, turkey sausage and tomato sauce, and I was very pleased with the result. Tasty, healthy and filling!
It was pretty cool to meet Chef Lynn; truthfully I was a little starstruck. She is quite the character, with a large personality and was a lot of fun.
The good people of Catelli have also given me the opportunity to give away a year’s supply of their new Healthy Harvest Ancient Grains pasta. It’s easy to enter, just click here to access the entry form! The contest will run until next Sunday and you are limited to one entry, per entry type, per person, per day. Good luck!
